 Our History 

 

1974 - The birth of the Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers

The Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers (SHPE) was founded by Rodrigo Garcia, a civil engineer for the city of Los Angeles. This organization was built to bring Hispanics to the forefront of America's innovation and development. 

1997 - SHPE arrives at UCR

Carlos Gonzales established SHPE at the University of California, Riverside.
