President

The President is designated the leader of SHPE-UCR. The President is responsible for laying out the strategy for the organization to provide the chapter with direction. Shall represent the chapter at key meetings.

External Vice President

The external vice president is responsible for maintaining the image of the chapter. In the absence of the president, part of his or her responsibilities will go to the external vice president. The external vice president makes sure that everything is running smoothly and boosts morale of the board when possible.

Internal Vice President

The internal vice president is responsible for making sure that all paperwork is handled properly. In the absence of the president, part of his or her responsibilities will go to the internal vice president. Additionally, the internal vice president ensures that all board members are doing their work in a timely manner, talks to faculty, and handles registration for national events.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for the general oversight of financials through planning the organization’s budget. Additionally, the treasurer handles the organization’s banking and reimbursements.

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for sending emails, updating membership metrics, and keeping notes of the board meetings. There are also the recaps of general meetings, sending updates to general members about success in the organization, and making sure there is open communication about events. The secretary is also responsible for the yearly spring talent show (Engineers Got Talent).

Social Media Chair

Whomever is elected Social Media Chair is in charge of all social media platforms that SHPE-University of California, Riverside has. All social media platforms currently in use include Facebook (group and page), Instagram, LinkedIn, and Discord.

Outreach

The Outreach Chairs are responsible for interacting with the community. They plan and execute events that get the future generation more interested in STEM fields.

Socials

The Socials chair is responsible for planning and executing fundraising events as well as events for the fellow college students. The chair is also the liaison for Chicano student programs.

Professional Development

The Professional Development chair is responsible for planning and executing events that will develop our members as young professionals. The Professional Development Chair maintains communication with alumni and industry professionals.

Academic

The Academic Chair is responsible for promoting academic excellence and the possibility of a future in academia for SHPE members. Their responsibilities include teaching the general members about opportunities like graduate school, research (on and off campus), and how to apply for things such as these.

Solar Boat Leads

The leads will always have a minimum of two leadership positions, one for the Mechanical Team and one for the Electrical Team. The Mechanical lead is in charge of the boat design, some powertrain aspects, steering, mounting, etc. The Electrical lead is responsible for the panels, work with MEs for motor, motor controller, solar charge controller, battery, etc.
